Shanghai has its first cocktail and bartender academy-style space with the opening of Bar consulting. The consulting company, established by Sebastien Bonnefoi, features a fully equipped bar room where up to 16 people can undertake mixology and wine programmes.

Consulting programmes range from basic (three days) through to professional (10 days) and are open to all hospitality businesses and F&B companies looking to improve staff skills.

The space can also be booked by non-professional wishing to learn move about making cocktails, As well as cocktail skills, the event management, and has a molecular mixology programme for bartenders wanting to advance their techniques.

Sebastien Bonnefoi is a bar consultant for Pernon Richard China, former bar manager for Bar Rouge, and co-author of mixology book “In’sence” together with famed French chefs the Pourcel brothers.
